Q&A
You're given a million dollars to donate to charity; what causes do you
support?
I'd have to say the pro-life movement, mental health, animal welfare, and education; these are the areas I feel need the most improvement in society today, and whose recipients have the least strong voice in their own advocacy. I would want to help be that voice.
Do you believe in ghosts?
Absolutely.
What is your earliest memory?
Sitting on my bouncy inchworm (called Inchy) on a tennis court in Pennsylvania. I think I was two.
Have you ever read a book that really scared you?
The Exorcist. Amazing book. It gets under your skin. I love it!
Do you keep a diary?
I do. I began keeping a diary on 1 January 1990 and never gave it up. Journaling is crucial for me. It allows me to organize my thoughts and get my feelings out of myself. I find it to be the most cathartic and liberating activity.
Why do you write?
I could provide any number of reasons, all of which would be completely valid, but perhaps the simplest answer is I write because, as, Charles Bukowski said, "poetry is what happens when nothing else can".
Describe yourself in three words or less:
Intense, abstruse, and eccentric. Can I toss paradoxical into the mix?
